The board of directors serves as the governing body for our organization.

The individuals of our board come from a diverse array of business and experience who oversee and guide the activities and affairs of our organization. Our board is playing a strategic role in providing oversight, ensuring accountability, and promoting our mission and strategic focus.

Bill Pugh

Bill Pugh

Bill was the City of Sumner’s Mayor from 2018 through 2021 serving 10,400 residents with a staff of 121. Bill also worked for the City of Sumner from 2008 to 2017 as both Public Works and Public Services Director.

From 1974 to 2008, Bill worked for the City of Tacoma ultimately serving as Public Works Director and Assistant City Manager. He is a member of Sumner Rotary (past president), Sumner Gordon Family YMCA Citizens’ Advisory Committee, a United Way of Pierce County Board Member, and co-chairs the Pierce County Library System Capital Campaign Steering Committee. He lives in Edgewood with his wife, Karen, and their dogs, Gracie and Sammie. Bill and Karen have 4 adult children and 5 grandchildren.

Todd Allen

Todd Allen

Todd Allen is a seasoned human resource professional with 25+ years of executive leadership experience providing HR solutions and expertise to organizations in the private and nonprofit sectors.

 He has been involved with the strategic restructuring, HR process transformation, and re-engineering of organizations throughout the United States. Todd is committed to the success of nonprofit organizations. Todd has undergraduate degrees from the University of Maryland and Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. He is a USAF veteran, retiring after 22 years of service. Todd and his wife Debbie reside in Bonney Lake. They have 2 adult children and 3 grandchildren.

Mary Beth Holmes

Mary Beth Holmes is a 21-year resident of Bonney Lake.

Believing we were never meant to live solitary lives; community has always been vital to her. Mary Beth’s careers have included food service management and software installation project management, software trainer, and wholesale food sales. Eight years ago, Mary Beth changed paths to work in her community, including a non-profit food co-op, youth programming, and community networking. Mary Beth is looking forward to using her skills and passion for community to continue to connect people with the vision and mission of The Market.

Elizabeth Carter

Elizabeth Carter

Elizabeth Carter is a lifelong resident of the Buckley and is passionate about serving people in her community.

She has been involved with volunteer work for over 25 years, including Young Life, Washington State PTA, White River Education Foundation, and the Bonney Lake Food Bank. In 2006, she held multiple leadership positions during her time with PTA (Parent-Teacher-Association) when her daughter started school. Elected to Region 5 Director, she provided leadership to 75 local PTAs. Helping families, especially children, is important to her as she volunteers and develops the Diaper Bank program with the food bank.   

Sophia Agtarap

Sophia Agtarap

Sophia is a 1.5-generation Filipina American and a deaconess in The United Methodist Church--a lay order of persons called to a full-time vocation in love, justice, and service.

 Sophia finds joy in coming alongside individuals and organizations to equip in the areas of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, to do the brave and hard work of building a more just society where all may thrive. She works in the Office of Civil Rights, Equity, and Inclusion for Sound Transit.

She does life with her spouse, two children, and three pups.

Ann Allen

Ann Allen

Ann has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare from the University of Washington and is the Executive Director of St. Stephen Housing Association, a non-profit housing program serving families experiencing homelessness.

She has worked with vulnerable populations for over 25 years and loves being a part of the work of the Bonney Lake Food Bank. She enjoys spending summer evenings outside and hanging out with her husband and teenagers. 

Jason Bass

Jason Bass

Jason is a husband and father of two, and lives in Bonney Lake.

He currently works as a Finance Manager for Amazon and enjoys spending his free time with his family hiking and biking on the many trails throughout the Tehaleh community. Having grown up in Pierce County, he is an avid fisherman who enjoys navigating the rivers and lakes around the Pacific Northwest in search of great fishing locations. Jason is passionate about serving others in his local community and helping to solve challenging problems. He holds a BA in International Relations and Economics and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

John Hofer

John Hofer

John Hofer is the longest-acting board member with the Bonney Lake Food Bank.

Born and raised in California, he moved to WA in 1999.  A real estate investor since 1989, he also co-owns Lake Tapps Self-Storage and RV Park.   John has two grown children and loves to travel.

Adam Uhler

Adam Uhler

Adam Uhler has been an educator in the greater Bonney Lake area since 1999.

First teaching in the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District then serving as an administrator in various roles for the White River School District before returning to SBLSD in 2018 to serve in his current position as the principal at Victor Falls Elementary.  Adam and his wife, Catherine, have lived on the Plateau for the last 15 years and are raising their three daughters.  Adam is passionate about serving our community in ways that help weave us together as we support our neighbors experiencing life’s greatest challenges with compassion and dignity. 

Jenson Isham

Jenson Isham

Jenson Isham is a father of three, avid guitar player, and lifelong technology enthusiast.

 Jenson currently oversees the management and coordination of Consulting, Managed Services, and VAR business units for a Pacific Northwest provider of technology solutions and services.  Jenson brings to the team extensive experience in leadership, strategic planning, innovation, and outcome-focused execution and is having the time of his life working with the Bonney Lake Food Bank.

Justin Evans

Justin Evans

Justin Evans was a council member with the City of Bonney Lake from 2015 through 2023, serving 21,500 residents.  Justin has also served the community for the past 10 years as a board member and volunteer coordinator for Beautify Bonney Lake.

Justin served on the Bonney Lake City Council for the past 8 years. During his tenure on the council, Justin served as chair of the Public Safety & Finance Committees. Justin previously served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Pierce County Regional Council.  Justin currently works as Director of Operations for a manufacturer in Tukwila.

Justin, his wife Candi, and their 10-year-old daughter, Zoey live in Bonney Lake.
